When people do an engagement session with me, I always ask if they have a location that’s meaningful for them. Being in a meaningful place actually helps the nerves when you’re being photographed for an hour. Plus, it adds a special touch to the images. These are Pirate’s Cove Avila Beach engagement photos with Grace and Ryan. The location has a tiny, tiny walk (like, 5 minutes) towards the cove and has a gorgeous pay off. We photographed an hour before sunset and the view was perfectly romantic.
These guys were super committed. Not only did they plan their wedding in 3 months, but they also had their bridal shower just before this session. And after the session, the couple took the time to randomly pray for me which was super sweet.
Just before the session, my husband and I scouted the area. When we did, we found a little spot that was just a little ways down. I photographed from above while my husband photographed down below to get different perspectives.
Unfortunately, the cove had a TON of graffiti over it, which had to be photoshopped.
This is a Korean trend which is a hand sign that’s supposed to represent a heart.
